Nordic removes GFWL and DX10 requirements from Red Faction: Guerrilla

Nordic Games has announced it's removed the Games for Windows Live and DirectX 10 requirements from Red Faction: Guerrilla.

In a post on the Steam Community forums, executive producer Reinhard Pollice announced a public open beta in order to test for stability, errors and bugs.

The game now contains full Steam Support, multiplayer and matchmaking via Steamworks, leaderboards, voice chat, and Steam Achievements.

Red Faction: Guerrilla will now use the DX9 Renderer by default as "DX10 created a lot of problems and resulted in performance drawbacks."

Pollice said this should also fix any issues players encountered when using Windows 8.

The Red Faction IP was one of many acquired by Nordic Games for $4.9 million during a second THQ sale following the main sale back in January 2013.

Thanks, Blue.
