Ex-BioWare devs debut "first truly 3D party-based action RPG"

Everstar is a new RPG from a team of former BioWare staffers which aims to deliver a "tactical Dark Souls" experience.

New indie Psycho Sorted is made up of veterans of Command & Conquer, Mass Effect, The Elder Scrolls and World of Warcraft, among others.

In a new Kickstarter, the team has asked for $850,000 to build Everstar.

Described as "the first truly 3D party-based action RPG", Everstar has players taking advantage of the verticality of terrain to battle enemies. Combat is realtime with optional tactical control via pausing, and physics play an important role. The video below shows this in action.

"You can think of Everstar as: Harry Potter with teenage gladiators or Dragon Age with improved gameplay and the deep NPC relationships from Persona 4," Psycho Sorted said.
Players take control of a party of up to six teenage gladiators. The PC, PS4 and Xbox One project will support co-op play, and is expected in April 2016 if funding is successful.
