Microsoft testing playable Xbox 360, Xbox One games in your browser - report

Microsoft is said to be testing the ability to play Xbox 360 and Xbox One games in your browser, according to a report.

Sources speaking to Neowin state the games would stream through the browser hitting around 60FPS, and could be the company’s next "killer gaming feature."

The Xbox 360 dashboard will be running in browser as well and isn't exclusive to Internet Explorer. This means Chrome users won't be left out, according to the source.

Microsoft is said to be beyond the concept stage with a small base of users currently testing functionality. While there isn't a release window yet as it hasn't been officially announced; however, as Neowin notes, it's possible the project could be axed down the road. But with Microsoft moving to Azure, it's more likely folks will be playing Xbox games in their browser sooner rather than later.
