Shock: Raiden is in Mortal Kombat X

Mortal Kombat X's latest character reveal is Raiden. Nobody is in any way surprised.

NetherRealm and Warner Bros. teased an Evo 2014 character reveal for Mortal Kombat X, and thanks to the lightning bolts being throwing around in the teasers nobody had any doubt that Raiden was the next face to join the roster.

A thunder god, Raiden has been playable in every core Mortal Kombat game to date. Many of his moves will be familiar to fans, but there are a few new twists worth examining.

IGN has the exclusive on Raiden's character trailer, which is over two minutes of gameplay footage versus Kato Kahn; take a look below. A little further down, you'll find a second version with commentary from NetherRealm boss Ed Boon.

Mortal Kombat X is coming to PC, PlayStation 3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One in 2015.
