You may remember that United Front Games confirmed that Triad Wars was part of the Sleeping Dogs universe back in October.

The studio even posted out the first, off-screen photo of Triad Wars gameplay.

Today, Eurogamer reports that United Front Games has signed a deal with Nexon America to publish its mystery free-to-play game in 2015.

“We can’t wait to unveil our new title with Nexon America – we’re confident it’s going to be a smash hit,” said United Front Games boss Stephen van der Mescht.

Do you think the project is Triad Wars? Let us know below.

Couldn’t agree more. The sad part is that it is actually HURTING the studios commercially. Look at Crytek: They went all in on F2P with GFace, WarFace (What’s with the Face fetish), Hunt, Arena of Fate and are already on the brink of bankruptcy.

They are forcing themselves into doing both AAA (Because they are a big studio and need big projects) and F2P (Because they think this makes the most money to feed said big studio) at the same time…
Instead of you know, developing several smaller indie BUT proper (Non-F2P) games?

There are some really good once though, like Ghost Recon Phantoms for example. Currently playing Nosgoth and the game has a few issues. You have two classes per faction that you have to unlock through actual money. Big no go in my opinion, as it enforces balancing problems.
