DOOM beta access with Wolfenstein pre-orders for PC, PS4, Xbox One only

The DOOM beta, access to which is included in pre-ordered copies of Wolfenstein: The New Order, will be made available only on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The information was posted in an updated FAQ on the Wolfenstein website, and explains should you pre-order the game PS3, the beta key acquired will be for the PlayStation 4 version - same with Microsoft systems.

Basically, there will not be a beta held on last-gen systems.

Codes will be provided in boxed versions of the game via an insert, and for those who order digitally, Bethesda is working with Steam, Sony and Microsoft to ensure digital customers are given access.

"Other digital retailers' processes and/or participation may vary. We suggest contacting your preferred retailer directly for additional information," said the FAQ.

The FAQ reiterated the only way to ensure access to the DOOM beta is by pre-ordering Wolfenstein.

Wolfenstein: The New Order releases on PC, PlayStation 3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One in North America on May 20 and throughout Europe on May 23.
