The Division: new screens show night-time squad combat, lots of dead bodies

Monday, 24th March 2014 11:53 GMT By Dave Cook

Tom Clancy’s The Division has received a new round of highly-detailed screens that depict night-time squad battles, rooftop-filled horizons and a street littered with dead bodies.

It follows this insightful The Division blog, which discusses how Ubisoft Massive’s Snowdrop Engine has enabled the team to optimise development, making its process and its game better, instead of just bigger.

Here are the screens. Let us know what you think below.

That last screen shot looks horrible for next gen. I could’ve done way better graphics. Wait until u see my new game God of war on ps4

Seriously VG247, this is 2014 why should I have to click on each image to see it? There should be a slideshow once I click image so i can view the rest. Not so difficult to implement.

Back on point, those are really bad quality images, but really looking forward to this game.

@Tech-N9ne That’s bothering me too, it’s so easy to implement something like that I can add this one to websites in less than a hour…

    These shots look absolutely horrific!!

Extremely low resolution textures…. DAT SNOW BRO!

Motion blur looks a bit off (probably will be fixed for release)

The lack of any visible Anti-Aliasing makes the screen look like shit

What does look good is the level design/art direction. I hope the gameplay lives up to the hype.

These are direct captures off the Snowdrop engine video, even has the video artifcacts and whatnot. The monkeys in this comment box won’t be able to understand that and go “OMG LOOKS BAD WRAAAA!”

Well, not the best quality pictures. But its suppose to show how dramatically the game can change from night to day, and how depth the environment is at different times of the day.
They should of just showed off a video instead to help their argument.

I am surprisingly excited about this.

But just can’t shake the feeling the game will get stripped to it’s bones for it to work on all 3 platforms.

    @5 Sethos

Maybe you should learn what artifacts are first.

It is not just these shots, its a lot of others as well. Literally every shot I have seen from this game makes the game look graphically bad. Apart from the first E3 presentation of it did it look the part visually and I bet that was running on a high spec PC.

Its Watchdogs all over again, ah well at least its nowhere near as bad as the Dark Souls 2 downgrade.

#11 Maybe you should, they are fucking clear as day. You just sound like a drama bitch that can’t see difference between shots from an average bitrate video and actual gameplay.
