Final Fantasy 10/10-2 HD Remaster is out this Friday in Europe, and Square Enix has released another launch trailer to celebrate.

The trailer is different from the North American one released last week, though it obviously still contains Tidus and Yuna. The remastered RPG is out March 21 for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.

Are you picking this one up?

I would of bought it had it been released on the PS4

My favourite Final Fantasy continues to be neglected. I’d love to see this kind of thing done with IX, whilst keeping the original aesthetic. Perhaps adding in some quality voice-acting, too. I mean, I love IV, VI, and VII too, but IX will always hold a special place in my heart for trying something interesting with both its setting and its story.

Emotional, well handled existential stories always get me, like that of Vivi. Man, Vivi, Steiner, Zidane… what a great bunch of characters. Miss ‘em.

@TheWulf I don’t think Squeenix could handle it. FF9 had a specific and intentional style, and that style is something that Squeenix can’t go to town on with graphical enhancements because doing so would mean losing that style in the process.

Besides, this is modern Squeenix we’re talking about here. Unless it’s a remake or port and only a remake or port, they make things worse for the classics. The longer Squeenix doesn’t do anything with FF9, the greater chance there is of a future Squeenix that’s actually good at what they do making something of it without current Squeenix’s problems mucking it up. I say this as a huge FF4 fan that wishes it never got a 3D remake thanks to FF4:TA.
