Crazy Taxi: City Rush is the new free-to-play sequel from series creator Kenji Kanno and Hardlight Studios. it’s coming to iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Android devices later this year.

In a press release sent to VG247 today, Kanno said, “I’m very excited to finally be able to share with you the first news of Crazy Taxi: City Rush. We are delivering a truly fun game that captures everything our fans love about the original and infusing it with several new features to create an even more fantastic and memorable experience.”

The game will see players swiping to change lanes and powerslide around corners while ferrying passengers across those crazy, crazy streets. Playes can also customise their cab and tune-up its stats, as well as unlocking more extras throughout the campaign.

To celebrate the announcement, the original Crazy Taxi is free on Android and iOS for a limited time.

“There’s a new Breath of Fire coming out!” Free to play mobile trash. “There’s a new Secret of Mana coming out!” Free to play mobile trash. “There’s a new Crazy Taxi coming out!” Free to play mobile trash. This is the worst gaming trend I’ve ever seen, on par with the rise of “Modern” shooters.
