Titanfall review round-up, get all the scores here

Monday, 10th March 2014 16:01 GMT By Dave Cook

Titanfall reviews have started dropping out of orbit before unloading their multiple score rockets into our faces. As always we’re collecting the numbers here for your convenience.

But first; why not check out Sam’s Titanfall impressions, in which he discusses Respawn’s gameplay, plot, netcode and more. He played it at an enclosed review event, so stay tuned for my final impressions on how the servers hold up in the wild on Thursday.

Here are the reviews as they come:

Got a score we’ve missed? Post it below and we’ll add it when we get a moment. Titanfall launches March 11 on PC and Xbox One across North America, then across Europe from March 14.

@heyvc Omelete still exists? WTF, I remember visiting it in dial up connection era and it was a shit site. Is it better now?

@Fin I’m sure that IGN didn’t give a score (yet) because it’s a review in progress.

  7. Imperius

Paid, paid, paid! The fact that they don’t knock the game for a lack of campaign is rediculous! Support this and you support never owning the games you buy! What happens when the servers shut off? Ask yourself that!

  8. MrSec84

@Imperius Great point, I totally agree with that.

  9. Michael Ireland

@Imperius You go into the game knowing that it’s focused on multiplayer. If that doesn’t suit you, then it obviously isn’t the game for you.

@Imperius See Battlefield 2. Great game.

Very nice scores, but a bit high for a multiplayer only game. I loved Quake 3 and Unreal tournament back in the day, but for $60 I expect at least some single player in my multiplayer these days.

I can’t imagine paying full price for this, Ill get it on PC when it goes on sale.

  17. mistermogul

Considering this game is MP with no SP campaign, I think it should be priced accordingly. In other words – cheaper.

Then I might be interested in getting it on PC but not as it stands…

  18. mistermogul

@fearmonkey – lol, if I’d have read your comment before posting I’d have just +1′d yours!

  19. BrokenSpline

Its not aimed at you. I am glad respawn just focused on the MP component and not just tacking on a SP component. THere is no requirement just because a game is 60$ that it must have x,y and z.

  20. Sylrissa

I agree in that aspect at least.

I do wish they would stop forcing tacked on multiplayer on cinematic single player games, and vice-versa not bother with some after thought single player campaign in a predominately multiplayer title.

  21. BrokenSpline

Absolutely. Bioshock 2 , Dead SPace 2 were examples of it being tacked on. If it gets as much attention as as the main game like Mass Effects 3 Multiplayer or Dead SPace 3 co op component go for it but don’t just make it because “everyone wants it”.

No surprise here. Every gaming journalist was having orgasms from this game since the announcement.

  23. mistermogul

@FlyBoogy – I must say after all the hype and press this game has had I was expecting a few perfect scores…

  24. tenthousandgothsonacid

I see a lot of bought off journalists. Does anyone even bother with reviews any more ? There was a lot of noise after the doritos and Rab Florence incidents yet we’re quickly back to the same old bullshit.

  25. theduckofdeath

@mistermogul What if it was SP with no MP? Would that be worth $60? No shooter has a campaign worth $60, IMO. There are are MP many times as many gameplay hours to be had from MP than SP.

  26. Major Mayhem 70

I don’t know, but judging by these scores…

Some of y’all think they paid for the good reviews?!? Really?!? Wow. Still in denial I see. TitanFall is just that, a Titan of a game. I was given a taste last month, and as of tomorrow, I’ll be in all out TitanFall addiction. See y’all on the battlefield. The believers that is. Nay sayers can just sit there looking like this : /

  27. Arcnail

    Waahhh they paid off reviewers!!

    Are you fn kidding me?

AND, they have said from the start, that there will be NO SINGLE PLAYER GAME to this. So, if you don’t like it, SHUT UP and play something else.

Well deserved scores for the best NextGen Multiplayer Game so far.

I’ll never begrudge anyone for liking whatever type of video game they’re in to, but for me I only spend money on multiplayer games, the game single player only game I spent money on was Bastion. For me its a value issue, I can spend 60 bucks on a game Ill finish in a weekend or 60 on a game I will play for at least a year. Infamous SS and The Order 1886 look amazing but when i found out there is no MP I cancelled my preorders, I’m still looking forward to playing them just only when they’re free to ps+ subscribers…..not worth the money to me

After all the SimCity and BF4 disasters, It’s kinda shameful how most sites are still giving out scores to a title that should be reviewed AFTER released and tested with all the gaming public using servers (Rather than the isolated, press only environment/servers that showed BF4 and SC are great games before public release).

    #30 9 months ago
  31. livewired500

@The_Red Because it is a race for clicks. The faster they can get their review out the more traffic they get. I don’t trust EA in the slightest. I won’t think about getting this for at least month after it is out and see what players are saying about it.

Not sure how anyone can do an effective review of a multiplayer-only game before the game is even released to the public, especially after the troubles with the last EA Triple-A FPS game launch. Kudos to those magazine and websites that are holding back their reviews.

Also find it strange that after decades of “Visuals” contributing to the final score of a game, it’s funny how many of the reviews haven’t even commented on the graphics at all, let alone remark on the Xbox One version looking no better than an Xbox 360 CoD game. It may be “a lot of fun”, but I remember when credible game journalists looked at the whole picture, and not just the bits that fit the hype.
