Borderlands 2: Sir Hammerlock and the Son of Crawmerax is Gearbox Software’s final DLC on the current slate, launching April 15. The team has just dropped four new images of the content.

We’ve also got the DLC’s official trailer through the link.

What do you think of the pack so far?

Wait, what? That’s trippy! They have little old European houses (either British or German, the sort commonly used in fantasy games), but all colourfully painted and held up by wooden supports on a beachfront!

This is one of those things where I’ve seen stuff that’s almost that but not quite, it’s like uncanny valley for houses, and I approve so much that I don’t think I could approve more if I wanted to. And this is exactly why I still have so much love for Gearbox, and I feel sad that I can’t enjoy their games. I don’t find Borderlands 2 to be all that fun, but the aesthetics?

Man, the aesthetics. There’s stuff I could go on and on about in BL2.

This is why I have high hopes for Tales of the Borderlands, I suppose. It’s going to have the artistic style and storytelling of the setting, combined with the choice-and-consequence gameplay of Telltale’s finest. So it’ll basically be something I understand how to enjoy both visually and mechanically. I can see me liking that Telltale effort quite a lot.
