Transformers: Rise Of The Dark Spark is indeed a thing, and will merge the canon established in the games so far with that of the Michael Bay movie series.

The new Transformers title was leaked by an Amazon listing ahead of its reveal during Hasbro’s presentation at the New York Toy Fair this weekend.

Rise Of The Dark Spark is due in 2014 on 3DS, PC, PlayStation 3, PS4, Wii U, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

Examiner reports the core console version is in the works at Edge of Reality, the team behind Loadout, rather than high Moon Studios, which developed previous Activision Transformers games. High Moon is believed to have suffered mass lay-offs after a string of mid- to low-rated titles.

The console version will include a co-op story campaign for one to four players as well as a four-player Horde-like mode called Escalation. Experience gained in either mode will carry over to the other. Players will be able to choose to play as the Autobots or Decepticons, and the story will unite the games with the Michael Bay movie.

Meanwhile, the 3DS version will be a strategy RPG from WayForward Technologies, the developer of BloodRayne: Betrayal, DuckTales: Remastered,Shantae, Mighty Switch Force and many other 2D gems.

    Whyyyy?

Did anyone actually like the Baytrash? His is an anti-aesthetic, should it ever actually come into contact with an aesthetic, it might mean the end of everything. Thus, this game terrifies me, because the first two Transformers games actually did have an interesting aesthetic.

It’d be like the BBC telling us that they’re creating some new episodes to tie the Hitchhiker’s radio series into the awful film. (I still say they should have had Cosby play Ford Prefect, because the guy they had playing him was the precise opposite of Ford, to the point where if Ford and Anti-Ford came into contact, I dare not think what might happen. Probably the end of everything.)

In the history of bad moves. This has to be one of the bad movesiest.

To end my post where I began: Whyyyyy?

high moon should never have done that deadpool game :\ it’s sad to hear about the layoffs at HM, they make good games, I really hope they bounce back from this and maybe we will get to see another great transformer game!

I was watching Pain & Gain the other day and it hit me: Michael Bay CAN be a decent director. That film had mostly acceptable acting, non-garbage dialogue AND was competently made. So why on earth can’t he at least bring a touch of that to his Transformers films (Which aside from a few scenes in 3rd film, are unwatchable)?

And WHY did they have to keep him for the 4th film? Now there is no chance of redemption for the franchise and its new trilogy. Finally, as a final insult, the enjoyable High Moon universe gets tainted by Bayformers.
