Mighty No. 9: live-action film in the works

Mighty No. 9 may have even more in common with Mega Man than you think, as it's also getting a live-action movie treatment courtesy of Mortal Kombat: Legacy producer Tim Carter.

In an interview with EP Live Carter - who is now writer and producer at Contradiction Films - revealed that his firm is working on a live-action adaptation of Keiji Inafune's Kickstarter-funded platformer.

Carter said, "We are building the story right now. Inafune-san created [Mega Man], and he has now created Mighty No. 9. We don't have the rights to Mega Man, obviously, but we are working with him on a live-action adaptation of it."

He added that he was unsure of how a live-action film of Mighty No. 9 might go down with North American audiences. That was, until, Keiji Inafune gave Carter some notes on the project. He added, "I was a little apprehensive about it at first until I got his notes, and thought 'Dude, you should be working at Pixar!'"
