SteamOS beta testers can now dual-boot and create a custom partition

Wednesday, 22nd January 2014 17:44 GMT By Stephany Nunneley

The latest update to the SteamOS beta provides users with the option to dual-boot and create custom partitioning. Released two days ago, the update will allow those who wish to do so, install both Windows and SteamOS onto the system. Due to the beta phase, it’s wise to note that doing such a thing comes with risks: according to Valve, there has been “little testing on this, especially any kind of dual-boot setup.” In other words, if you are participating, don’t install it on any machine you “are not prepared to lose.” Via The Verge.

Inability to make your own partitions was a real bummer. I will install it on my main machine this weekend.

If they didn’t screw up Debian beyond recognition the chance of losing any data on the Windows side is minimal.
