Ryse: Son of Rome gets free and paid multiplayer DLC

Ryse: Son of Rome has received a few pieces of free and paid multiplayer DLC, Microsoft has confirmed.

Larry 'Major Nelson' Hryb posted details of the new Ryse: Son of Rome content on his blog today.

The free update adds two new level events to Gladiator mode that occur randomly on several maps. The first is an enemy turret that will phase into the arena without warning, and start bombarding both players until destroyed. The second event sees deity statues spawning into the map that will boost your warrior's health or focus bar.

Next, the Colosseum Pack will run you $3.99 or comes included in the Ryse season pass, and adds two new arenas into the mix called Henge and Ascension. The formers sees gladiators fighting to secure a forest shrine amid waves of barbarians, while Ascension tasks players with fighting through Hades' underworld to the surface.

The pack also comes with Commodus and Centurion avatar skins.
