Thursday, 12th December 2013 17:45 GMT By Stephany Nunneley

Alpha backers of Elite: Dangerous from Frontier Studios can now play the single-player tester, provided they were one of the ones which pledged at least £200. Other alpha tests will be made available next year as development is completed. A video is below. Thanks, Eurogamer.

To many games that are actually available to play now to be worrying about this.

Glad to see this. It puts Star Citizen all the more to shame, honestly. I believe this started well after Star Citizen, and it’s already bringing people in, and it’s shown us more of the game (beyond sexy car commercials, which I don’t recall the Elite team ever doing).

So… yeah. This is looking like something real, unlike the Star Citizen vapourware.

Looking good. I’m glad I backed it.

Mind you, I backed all three of the upcoming space type games as I love ‘em.

As an original BBC -B Elite player from 1985, I was always going to get this.

They will hit $35m this week. Pretty sure they are putting EVERYONE else to shame.
