New Disney Infinity figures and Power Discs have been announced for the interactive action-adventure title. Below you will find screenshots and videos of characters from Tangled, Wreck-It-Ralph, and Frozen.

Key highlights of new characters, who will add all sorts of fun things to Toy Box mode, include:

• Rapunzel uses a unique style of combat.
• Wreck-It Ralph who uses his wrecking abilities and 8-bit Cherry Bombs to defeat enemies.
• Vanellope, the Sugar Rush racer, brings her Glitch ability that allows her to teleport short distances and glitch out characters that come in contact with her.
• Frozen Toy Box Pack: Featuring Anna, Elsa and two hexagonal power discs: Anna will use her grappling hook to get to hard-to-reach places and use her shovel to defeat enemies. Elsa will utilize her magical ice abilities, such as using the Freeze Ball to stop opponents in their tracks.

In addition, 20 new Power Discs are available in the UK, including three new “rare” versions featuring the Electric Mayhem Bus from the world of The Muppets, the Condor Wing Glider and Captain Hook’s ship from the Disney Parks ride.

Circular Power Discs give characters special power-ups that can be used in both Play Sets and Toy Box, while Hexagonal Power Discs unlock special gadgets, vehicles and themes in the Toy Box.

Expect the new character to arrive in stores in time for the holidays.

Just ordered the Wreck-It Ralph figure from Best for pick-up later.

Tomorrow I’ll order the Vanellope figure from Target.

My son’s birthday is this weekend. He’s going to be one damned happy camper. :D

:) They look like a lot of fun, really. I was going to get my nieces a set for Christmas, but they broke their Wii.

They’re learning, it seems. It’s nice to see Wreck-it-Ralph in there after the awful launch line-up. It’s one of the few genuinely good Disney films in a long time. Now, if they want to get some other decent ones in there, they could try Merida and her mother.

And then they could look at some of their classic films, which are still popular with kids. I’m just amazed that they haven’t gotten the Lion King stuff in there, what with the ongoing popularity of those films with the little ones.

But yeah, Wreck-it-Ralph is a big step in the right direction.

With ageless icons like The Little Mermaid, Simba, Belle, Aladdin or even bloody Pocahontas to choose from, it’s insane that all we get from this new line-up of toys is minor forgettables such as Anna and Elsa.

@4 I wonder if they plan on releasing Jungle Book, Bambi, Robin Hood, (and yes The Lion King!)or any of the other “classics”.

And where the HELL is Winnie the Pooh for that matter?

The game is not only to feature past characters like mickey and the incredibles, but to showcase new ones that are introduced in New films such as Frozen. Infinity is a franchise and is intended to be around for a long time for God sake, give them some time, they can’t include every character in the Disney catalog all at once

@7 Oh, lighten up Felix, it’s Saturday! We just want our childhood favorites sooner rather than later – like most impatient children. ;)

Sadly, from what I’ve been reading this is pretty much the entire line-up for the initial Disney Infinity. Toy Story was the last playset on the disc that was locked. I think there’s possibly 2 more characters locked up on the disc, and that’s it. Sorcerer Mickey being one, and he’s Toy Box only.

The next line-up won’t be until Disney Infinity 2, as it’s supposed to be an annual release, with all-new play-sets and figures. All past figures and play-sets are supposed to work with all future ones going forward, to be kind of seamless.

That’s what I’ve been reading, anyways…. should be interesting to see how it pans out.

But I agree with you guys, the initial launch line-up was REALLY lacking, and they obviously wanted some free publicity for the Lone Ranger, Monsters Unversity and Frozen films that released. Monsters University in itself is a horrible choice. My kids don’t even touch that playset. Sulley, while an awesome character, is a horrible choice for this game, and don’t get me started on Mike (so far as DI goes).

Where the hell is Neverland and Peter Pan and Tink and Captain Hook? That one builds itself, man. And Sorcerer Mickey should have something like Fantasia to explore and adventure in.

Toy Story, The Incredibles and Pirates of the Caribbean were great choices, though. I’m hoping the next edition packs more of a punch.
