Gran Turismo 6 GPS visualiser compared side-by-side with source

Gran Turismo 6 will allow you to race on real tracks, then bring the data home and compare it to your performance in-game. The video below shows the finished product, using data taken from the Willow Springs International Raceway, compared side-by-side with video footage of the actual track.

Polygon Toyota’s CAN-Gateway ECU powers the feature. You’ll be able to save your racing data to a USB drive, then transfer it to your PlayStation 3, where you can compare your real and in-game driving skills.

Don’t worry if you don’t live near a famous track already included in-game; the Gamer Maker app will allow you create custom tracks from GPS data.

GT6 arrives on PS3 on December 6.

I think this is a clear example of how tracks in video games are WAY to smooth compared to the real world. See how bumpy the real track is compared to the game. In the game it’s like driving on glass.
