Microsoft hiring for triple-A F2P title based on “established and successful IP”

Thursday, 14th November 2013 14:21 GMT By Stephany Nunneley

Microsoft Studios is looking to fill a Technical Producer position, and upon being hired, the candidate will help “drive the future of gaming through a hybrid of AAA quality games and service-based experiences, technology, and business models.” In other words, they’ll be developing a free-to-play title.

Spotted by DualShockers, the position would entail the “execution and integration of key technologies and features necessary to support the service components of a new game based on an existing, successful Microsoft Studios IP. ”

Since the position is located in Redmond, Washington, its not likely to be the unannounced titles in the works at Lionhead, Rare, or Black Tusk Studios as these are based in the UK or Canada. Unless it would be a collaborative position. Who knows at this point.

The first F2P game to be released on Xbox One will be Killer Instinct.

Forza F2P? You’ll get 20 cars and the rest will be delivered by DLC? Please not.

Crackdown would make sense to me. “COD style Halo” was called Reach and was a tremendous fuck-up, lol, so here’s hoping they don’t do that again.

If not for the triple-A statement I’d say it was likely to be the next Full House Poker or some other avatar-based title.

I vote Crackdown or a Halo game (MMO style, like Planetside)

@6 Campaign was great, I liked it, but the multiplayer was trying to hard to be something it didn’t need to be in my opinion. A lot of other Halo players I’ve talked to want to forget Reach multiplayer ever happened.

@7 – That would make me want to own an Xbox One. Same with MechAssualt.

I’m sure it’s probably Halo based though, but one can hope.
