Ford CEO Alan Mulally in frame for Microsoft CEO job - rumour

Steve Ballmer is soon to step down from his role as Microsoft CEO, and a new name has emerged as a potential successor: current Ford CEO Alan Mulally. Game Informer has caught wind of a rumour that he is in negotiations to take over at Redmond.

Reporting via All Things D, Game Informer suggests that Mulally is currently frontrunner for the role, edging ahead of Nokia main man Stephen Elop due to his experience in leading companies through turnaround periods. It's also said that Mulally advised Ballmer on the company's new organisational structure.

We'll have more on this as information becomes available.
