Microsoft: 40 percent of people who use Xbox Live in some capacity are women

Saturday, 21st September 2013 20:49 GMT By Phil Owen

Gamespot reports that Microsoft COO Kevin Turner said at an internal gathering of financial analysts that the Xbox Live “audience” is now just under 40-percent women. Turner said this represents a “giant change” from the dawn on Xbox Live. Because Turner is doing that major publisher thing where he doesn’t explain anything, what this actually means is anyone’s guess.

@3 That’s on the Wii U. The woman on the XBL are probably playing Minecraft or any of the 100′s of XBLA games. My wife likes playing the older Pacman and card games. I hope Kevin Turner can sign on some Japan developers to make some exclusive content.

Sony or Nintendo can’t be very progressive if their communities are populated by sexist lowbrows like you.

Well how to appeal to single male in 1 lesson by MS,

Shake up all age audiences and voila, you got a promise that you as single male may have a chance to find your counter part soul mate if you buy a Xbox one!

    What’s next?
Xbox users are less likely to die before the age of 100 birthday?

Come on, mix up some market research, shake it up well, spray some sugar on top and I am sure you can find that one.

Xbox Kinect users are slimmer, more svelt, and have more muscles?

Unfortunately, with an XBox Live sub required for all services such as watching Netflix along with mothers setting up accounts for their children, I’m uncertain how significant this statistic is when applied to the shifting demographics of video games.
