Alien Rage Steam pre-orders open, new screens drop

Alien Rage developer City Interactive has opened pre-orders for the shooter over on Steam, and has sent us across a new batch of images.

As you can see from the Alien Rage Steam hub, the game will unlock on September 24, and will run you £11.99. It’ll go back up to £14.99 once it’s out.

The shooter seems to borrow from the old school of insane FPS games, featuring tons of massive guns, destructions and aliens to slaughter.

Check out these screens and let us know what you think below:

This game is generic as fukc… Not saying its bad… its not worse than any console shooter, for example halo. I like the visuals.

My first reaction is that the power armour is kind of sexy. Then, of course, in the next screenshot I realise it’s for those we fight against.

I don’t understand this need to make the hero of every game the most generic person to walk the face of the earth. That’s one of the reasons I liked Saints Row IV. At least the boss has some kind of personality, and can dress up as ridiculously as he desires.

How are we sending this message that we desire to be so painfully generic in our games? Games are out escapism, heroes should be everything but generic.

Is it because most gamers are tremendously generic in and of themselves and prefer the familiarity of that as a character? Only accepting and somewhat appreciating more novel and clever things at arm’s length? If true, that’s really sad.
