Tuesday, 3rd September 2013 00:20 GMT By Brenna Hillier

During a PAX Prime 2013 panel, Borderlands and Aliens: Colonial Marines developer Gearbox confirmed it has two new projects on the go. Plus, pick up Borderlands 2′s latest DLC pack from tomorrow.

Destructoid reports the developer mentioned the two new properties but gave no further details. Eurogamer has word that both properties are headed to next-gen consoles.

Beta access to one of the two games will be included in Gearbox’s community day 2013 digital access pack; this pass will also include an HD livestream of the event, exclusive Borderlands 2 heads and skins, Homeworld HD and Homeworld Classic.

Gearbox’s community day is schduled for September 14, and you can buy-in via its Twitch channel for $20.

Also during the panel, Gearbox announced the latest DLC for Borderlands 2, the $5 Digistruct Peak Challenge pack, fwill release on Tuesday September 3; that’ll be Wednesday for those of us living in the future, and likely a few days later for those on a SCEE-managed branch of the PlayStation network.

The Ultimate Vault Hunter 2 pack also releases tomorrow and if you also own the first such upgrade you’ll score some additional extras. It is not included in the Season Pass, which has now expired.

Finally, GameInformer reports Gearbox also announced a new line of Vault Hunter statues.

20 bucks to watch them more or less advertise themselves, and for that you get 6(?) skins and heads, and a copy of a game that a lot of BL2 fans probably couldn’t care less about, because it has nothing to do with Borderlands 2?

You have got to be kidding me.

I’m guessing said heads/skins are going to be exclusive available-nowhere-else-ever deals? Watch them be better looking than the ones I’ve spent good money on already, too… and we likely won’t even be able to buy them, later?

I hope I’m not the only one put out by this.
