Agent trademark renewed by Take-Two

Tuesday, 23rd July 2013 10:00 GMT By Dave Cook

Agent may still be a live project over at Rockstar, following the discovery of a renewed trademark for the game.

The filing was submitted on July 18 and applies to a variety of video game and multimedia uses.

The trademark filing suggests that the game’s logo has remained unchanged following this renewal as the filing reads, “The mark consists of the word “AGENT” with the shape of a handgun comprising the internal section of the letter “G”.”

Take-Two’s filing follows the appearance of Agent on a Rockstar New York employee’s resume, which stated the game was still in-development. Check out our report on the matter here.

Agent was announced in July, 2007 and was pitched as a Rockstar North spy game set during the cold war. Rockstar’s initial press release said it would take place in, “The world of counter-intelligence, espionage and political assassinations”

What do you make of the above? Could Agent now be a next-gen project?

Thanks Siliconera.

Waiting for this game for a few years now. Hopefully it doesn’t end up being a rushed project, current or next-gen.

I hope the game engine is on par with snowdrops, and still be playstation exclusive.

I remember this being announced, but it didn’t have a single screen shot, so I never really cared much about it.

No chance this will be a Sony exclusive anymore…we already saw the same crap go down w/ LA Noire…It’s taken so long that they have had to renewed trademarks, so in all likelihood it is multi-platform next gen

Agent was being funded by Sony so if Rockstar took to pay for it themselves then yes it will be multiplatform otherwise not.

I remember in a interview that GT had with Jack Tretton that he had no idea what was going on with Agent. I think it was during E3 last year or so. I definitely expect this one to be multiplatform, if it ever comes out.
