Thursday, 11th July 2013 11:16 GMT By Dave Cook

Superfrog HD is the spruced-up edition of Team 17′s classic Amiga platformer, and it’s just been dated for PS3 and PS Vita.

Previously slated for a loose July or August release, Team 17 has today confirmed that the game is coming to PSN on July 31 at £6.49/€7.99.

The game has 24 enhanced stages based on the original game’s designs, a level editor and an endless runner mode. It also supports cross-buy over PS3 and Vita.

Superfrog HD is also coming to PC and Linux in due course.

You know me… I love platformers. I tend to be on top of news about ‘em. Glad I could help.

played it to death on the amiga… then years later i found it and played it on amiga emulators for the peecee. these emulators emulate the amiga perfect and you can get usb version of the zip stick joystick… so why the hell do i want to splash more money on this game?… do they think i am thick in the head?.. its free the game and amiga emulators, you only need to buy that usb zipstick. and you can play all your amiga games favorites for free.. its just a mouse click away!

^ i supported them back in 1993, i loved team17 and bought all their games back in the day. even if i could pirate the hell our of their games i didn’t..
when team17 will be bothered to make new games, than milking the shit outta 30 year old software i will support them again.

But they are releasing a new Worms soon … ;)

Loved Superfrog back on the Amiga, fantastic music too. Cross-buy is nice, so might pick this one up.

@7 if you have not played worms with your buddies before then your in for an awesome games. but i gotta be honest here… i played it from day one, its getting pretty stale and have nothing new to offer. if you been in the game for a while its just another cash’in… loojk up wiki and see how many worms game have been released already, just saying….

Yeah that was kind of the point. They’ve milked Worms for all it’s worth and not really come up with anything new for a long time. Loved Worms on the PS1, one of my most played games with friends. Subsequent games never really captured the simplistic diversity that offered. They all seemed to add lots of new features and weapons but the game as a whole lost something.

@9 i dont mind if they touch up the graphics and add new features for new console platforms now and then.. but it is getting thin now, after all 1995 is a long time ago. these guys at team17 was once at the edge at game developing. it time for something new… just saying.
