Colin McRae Rally appears on iTunes, based on classic racer

Colin McRae Rally has been outed on the New Zealand iTunes store ahead of tomorrow’s reveal. It’s a new mobile game from Codemasters based on classic PS2 title Colin McRae Rally 2.0, and it features some 30 tracks.

You can find the game on iTunes here. It’s priced NZ$6.49 and features tracks set across familiar locations including Corsica, the Greek mountains and the Australian outback.

Just like the classic game, McRae’s co-driver Nicky Grist will provide pace notes, and players can get behind the wheel of a Subaru Impreza, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI, Lancia Stratos and Colin McRae’s own Ford Focus.

The game features Game Centre support and will only play on iPad 2 or newer, iPhone 4S/5, or 5th gen iPod touch.

The leak follows some teasing images and tweets from Codemasters that we’ve compiled here.

What do you think?

Thanks Videogamer.

I was looking forward to hopefully seeing another Colin McRae game. Sick of silly Mobile games. Codemasters need to step up their game after the dissapointing GRID 2.

It’s so dumb to start teasing like this when you know full well that 70% of the fanbase will be disappointed by the news.

Not saying this news won’t please someone, but just announce it instead of doing this silly thing where you’re giving us hope only to disappoint us yet again.

Colin McRae died in september 15, 2007. It is about time Codemasters stop this milking of the name. The last good Colin McRae Rally game was Colin McRae Rally 2.0 and it was released in 2001. All the games after that have had horrible controls, and have suffered by going multiplatform release. Later games like the Colin McRae Dirt series was ruined by dlc that stare you in the face on the screen. and left you with a feeling after you payed the 60 dollars, you haven’t bought the full game.

Now we have this mobile phone/tablet crap…

Enough is enough Codemaster, if you continue on this road i am not buying any of your games ever again.
