Dragon’s Prophet will go into open beta in Europe starting this weekend. Starting tomorrow, from 2.00pm onwards, players can jump into the fray and if you purchased the Founder’s Pack, you can play in the beta as early as today. During the beta, current contents will be improved upon, and major updates and large-scale expansions are already in the works. Hit up the official website for more information.

Seriously, after Dragon’s Crown comes out in August, can we have a moratorium on videogames with “Dragon” as the first word of their title? Existing franchises can keep it. But it is quite ridiculous right now.

I’d be all for it if they were actually bloody about dragons for a change. Even this is just more ‘monsters’ per se than actual dragons, with too much of a focus on the player. A lady friend and I poked this and we were so completely repulsed by the design of the armour on the women that we just couldn’t play it. It really is like a themepark of objectification for sexually insecure people who can only appreciate scantily clad women in games.

Just once it would be nice to have a game that has Dragon in the title to actually be about dragons! The best games about dragons though, ironically, have not had dragon in the title.
