Fourth Penny Arcade game launching June 7, get Penny Arcade 3 free on Steam today

Tuesday, 21st May 2013 01:06 GMT By Phil Owen

The fourth and final iteration of Penny Arcade’s On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness, coming at you from Zeboyd, will launch on June 7 exclusively on the PC and Xbox Live. No mobile version this time.

The developer announced the date in a blog post which also noted that the dev team thinks it’s their best work yet. (They’d previously done the third Penny Arcade game, Cthulhu Saves the World and Breath of Death VII.)

To celebrate the announcement, they’re giving away Steam codes for OTRSPOD 3 until midnight PDT tonight. To get you one of those codes, hit this link. Good luck figuring out the Captcha.

Uh. Oh boy. They derped that. Every time you enter the captcha, you get a new code (a unique steam code, at that). This could be very bad for them and future sales of this game.

@2, If you’re giving away an old game to market a new game chances are the earning potential of that old game already hit its lowest ebb anyway.

The number of keys that form has available will probably be finite too, so even if there are assholes farming keys out of it the impact on Penny Arcade will simply be the calculated maximum they’ve already imposed on themselves.

Yeah. Fair point, I hadn’t thought of that. They probably do have a limited number, just in case. That’s good, because I was actually worried. I kind of like Zaboyd, their stuff is okay and they’re pretty great people to boot. I wouldn’t want to see them taking losses from this.

“We’re all out of codes. Thanks for playing!”

They could have at least only given them to people who bought the first two? Just a fucking thought :p

    And yes, that be me.

If anyone got a spare code and wants to spread some lurrve, poke me on steam? :)
