Gran Turismo 6 screens show off lovely machines, interiors, Silverstone

Thursday, 16th May 2013 22:49 GMT By Stephany Nunneley

Gran Turismo 6 is a thing, as you well know by now, and while I posted a few shots for you yesterday, I missed quite a few thanks to a hanging download and my ISP throwing a fit over the sun shining. Today, I have remedied the matter by posting almost 100 shots below. Some may be dupes, it’s hard for me to tell unless it’s a Merc or a Ferrari – both of which are in there much to my delight – so apologies for that. However, there are also shots of the Alfa Romeo TZ3 Corsa, interiors and Silverstone, along with shots pertaining to GT Academy. All are mixed together in a tasty boulibase for you.

Enjoy, and thank AGB for posting them.

    Why does it feel like the graphics gone worse from GT5? Look at those jaggies

    @1

    The pics take a second to load in for some reason, then the AA kicks in! :/

    Still, looks exactly the same as GT5 to me.

    Someone is really blind if he thinks that the cars looks the same.
    Polyphony Digital uses Adaptive tesselation for cars which is achievement for such terrible machine as PS3.

    Who cares what they call it when it doesn’t look good?

    They might aswell call it SUPERAWESOMEJAGGIESREMOVER and it’d still look bad.

    The clouds look nice atleast.

    You didn’t know what that was till PD talked about it the other day. :)

    I really think your eyes are playing tricks with you.

    @3 Adaptive tesselation? On PS3??

    Are you serious. PS3 does not have a tesselation engine built into its hardware as tesselation never existed when it was released. Tesselation has only been introduced in DX11 on Windows 7. Plus its a DirectX technology whereas PS3 and PS4 use OpenGL API.

    @3 It looks the same as GT5. Not one iota better or worse.

    Dat ‘crowd’ in screenshot 73… O_o… I haven’t seen cardboard cut outs since Sega Rally 2…

    @6, Adaptive tesselation is the engine technology for GT6. engine supports it for PS3. It’s not the same tesselaton as Direct X11 tesselation. Adaptive Tes is only for cars because PS3 is not enough powerfull to support full tesselation as you said. It’s still Direct X9

    @Monkey, it’s not the same looking thing. Cars look much better and no more jaggies around them and what’s inside is also without jaggies. Cars really look better.
    It’s hard to notice because they are well.. duh. Cars. But these cars are very well done.

    I’ll def check it on release, but aren’t these shots also from the ‘photo’ mode? Where they up the quality, same as Forza’s replay mode?

    The vehicles look much better IMHO, but the tracks… ugh.

    There is a problem with how the images are being rendered on this page, those ariel shots look terrible. Check out the shots in the linked article, there’s a massive improvement!

    Of course, many of those shots are 2500x~1400 resolution, so these are bullshots anyway.

    @12 They actually do look better, thanks :D

    #6 Tesselation is in OpenGL too, stop the FUD. PS4 will have tesselation out the box.

    The pics do look terrible, but the team still has several months of work. With improvements to the lighting and shading, I’m sure everything will look great.

    I just hope this time Polyphony spent more time designing better carreer and online modes and leaving the graphical details for the end!

    It’s no GTO, but that Dino sure looks amazing!
    Come on PD, be a peach and suck up to Luca so that we can have the LaFerrari in the game.

    1. But can anyone tell me how GT6 will be any different to GT5?

    2. Five quid says it won’t be out on its scheduled release date. Kaz spoke this week about things which have yet to be done. Has he ever hit a deadline?

    3. Why do I care? I quit GT for Forza. Although Turn 10′s recent boasts about their polygon counts suggests they have caught PD’s disease.
