Star Wars Pinball stand-alone version hitting PS3, Vita next week

Zen Studios has announced a stand-alone version of Star Wars Pinball will release on PSN next week.

The initial Star Wars Pinball pack was released in February for Zen Pinball 2 on PS3 and Vita, and included Star Wars Episode 5: The Empire Strikes Back, Boba Fett and Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

This time, it's back with more features.

"From the very beginning of the Star Wars Pinball project, we had been working on a special, standalone version of the game that would offer some really fun community features and would be fully branded Star Wars," said the firm's Bobby Loertscher on the PS Blog.

"We managed to finish that project and it’s releasing next week, exclusively on PS3 and Vita."

Those you have already purchased the tables in Zen Pinball 2 can download Star Wars Pinball at no charge, unlocking tables in Zen Pinball 2 and Star Wars Pinball. Both games are Cross Buy entitled with Vita.

Updates to the title include the ability to choose support the Galactic Empire or the Rebel Alliance and all high scores will contribute to the side you choose. The main game user interface will also "change dynamically," based on how the community chooses to support each side.

An XP progression system will be added to allow users to "move up the ranks based on Galactic Empire or Rebel Alliance support," as well.
