League of Legends concurrent player count hits 5 million

League of Legends now regularly exceeds 5 million concurrent players globally, Riot Games has announced. The last time the developer gave us an update, in October 2012, it was topping out at 3 million concurrent users, demonstrating some healthy growth for the world’s most lucrative eSport MOBA. “Please have mercy on our servers,” Riot noted, quite humbly.

Thanks, PCGamesN.

I’m not sure what’s more impressive. That they managed to build servers that can hold 5 million people at once, or that they found that many people to fill them.

PC gaming is dead.

That’s insane man. Almost the same as all of Steam during peak hours.
