New Warface trailer demonstrates on-the-move weapon modding

In Crytek’s upcoming free-to-play online shooter Warface, you won’t need to wait until you’re dead to change out your weapon mods. You can do it on the fly as you’re running around. You can see what that looks like in the new trailer we just got.

The game will probably officially launch soon (scheduled for spring), but if you’d like to try it out now you can sign up for the beta at

Seems so simple, yet most modern shooters refuse to do it. Players have been asking for this kind of thing for years.

I tried this game last week, and it sucks quite a bit in my opinion…

The maps are very small: even smaller than a random CoD map. And everything feels so not-AAA. Didn’t I recently read Crytek would transition fully to FreeToPlay games? I don’t see how they can survive when they make multiplayers that are off less quality than their Crysis multiplayers… (those also aren’t that good and die quite fast)

Everything also feels quite casual: how you swing your melee knife, how you throw nades, the uberlarge hitmarkers, …

Spawns are also not random so in TDM it’s very easy to baserape a team.

Conclusion: Tried the game a few hours but I excepted more of Crytek. So afterwards went back to Battlefield 3: a 2011 game that still satisfies me a hell of a lot.
