World of Darkness MMO being played internally at CCP

Thursday, 28th February 2013 17:19 GMT By Stephany Nunneley

CCP has said its World of Darkness MMO is being played internally at the studio.

According to CEO Hilmar Veigar Pétursson, EVE Fanfest attendees in April will even get a “tiny” piece of the title.

“[Development] is going on very nicely, we’re playing it internally at CCP. It’s actually a problem that some of our employees are losing themselves already in the World of Darkness as we go through the playtests,” Pétursson told Eurogamer.

“And we’ll be showing a tiny piece of that also at Fanfest. So that is all I have to say about that at this time.”

World of Darkness is based on the role-playing license of the same name, and the initial release will focus on vampires. The MMO has been development since 2008 and doesn’t have a release window, currently.

@DSB The game is being developed by their team in Stone Mountain, Atlanta – Georgia (USA). That’s where White Wolf is also based. If somebody don’t know which is White Wolf, they were the creators of Vampire: The Masquerade, the RPG books that later were expanded to World of Darkness’ universe, vampires, werewolves, mages, The Kuei-jin and others. They merged with CCP in 2006.

They posted tweets about what was tested and the internal test begun on January. They tested graphics, movies and territory battles. About 100 employees participated in the test.

When I read the article on Eurogamer, the unique novelty for me, it was they’re going to show “something” in Eve Fanfest 2013. They promised many times they’re only going to show something, when feel is something good and interesting. So, let’s see.
