Resident Evil: Revelations hitting PC, PS3, Wii U, 360

Capcom has announced Resident Evil: Revelations will release on PC, PS3, Wii U and Xbox 360 in May.

The announcement comes after achievements for Xbox 360 turned up online earlier this month, and after the Korean Ratings Board listed the title back in November 2012.

It has been updated with HD visuals, enhanced lighting effects and an “immersive sound experience.”

Additional content such as a new enemy, extra difficulty mode and improvements to Raid Mode like new weapons, skill sets and the opportunity to play as Hunk and other characters from the series will be included.

Raid Mode, first introduced with the 3DS version, is an online co-op mode or single player mode where players take on hordes of enemies across a variety of missions.

Revelations lands on PC, PS3, Wii U, and Xbox 360 in North America on May 21 and in Europe on May 24.

The title will also be available to download digitally from the same dates on PS3 for €49.99 and PC for €39.99. Details on digital versions for Xbox 360 and Wii U will follow at a later date.

Saw it coming. Ironically, this will be the best RE consoles and PC get for the past years.

Anyone who played the original version of this game? From what I’ve heard and read, and seen on YouTube it seems to be a washed out version of RE5.

Ironically this game was intended for the PSP, then changed for the 3DS.

Now it’s coming out on everything but Vita…

Someone is trolling hard at Capcom lol :)

The article doesn’t mention all the extra stuff that it’s supposed to get and that’s a full disc release (even though there will be a Day 1 Digital for PS3), with a new monster, Hunk in something called Raid mode, a new difficulty, etc… All of that’s on Capcom Unity.

@10, no, it’s an entirely new game, original story, classical control, one of the best 3DS games out there and arguably one of the best Resident Evil.

Visuals are good, but for the Vita game, except it’s not going to get it.

Well, will try it on the PC.

Oh it looks great!

Shows people the 3DS CAN do some pretty awesome graphics (this version only looks polished up a little). And running in 3D too…

Honestly, I swear if it had a OLED screen like the VIta, people wouldn’t even notice on a screen that size.

Shows you power ain’t nothin’ but a thang when it comes to handheld sales.

@21

I haven’t played it yet, but yeah prob.

Haven’t you played Resi with the alternate outfits? I’m pretty sure they started that trend with Resi 1 or 2.

Loads of weird outfits, the ones in Resi 5 just got crazy (Little Red Riding Hood Sheeva etc…)

@22: No, i’m pretty sure that’s the official outfit, the one she normally wears.

@12 Yes. It does. “Additional content such as a new enemy, extra difficulty mode and improvements to Raid Mode like new weapons, skill sets and the opportunity to play as Hunk and other characters from the series will be included.

I enjoyed this on 3DS. The best Resi since Resi 4 imo…

You know guys, you all are talking about the Vita trolling… But what about the prize trolling? 50 fucking dollars? What the fuck is this? Capcom still deserves to be the worst company of this generation but the thing is… They are proud of it, proud of fucking the fan right in the face.

Awesomness. Capcom port everything, especially RE, knew this day would come. More pumped to play this than I am 6.

Imagine a very specific part of the Island sequence in RE4 (breathing, undying and infra-red scopes), now give that a classic “Resi Mansion” make-over and thats the Jill parts of Revelations. Its really really good.

Now take RE5 and put it in the snow, thats the Chris part its a bit pants.

There are a couple of other pairs that you get to play as throughout the campaign. One is even a comedic relief paring.

and yes that really is one of Jessica’s standard outfits, theres a few different costume changes over the course of the game.

The new enemies are’nt all that visually appealing compared to previous virus victims but then the whole game is’nt really set on the boat, there are invisible Hunters and bunch of more interesting designs later on.

Not sure how well its going to hold up outside of a portable platform because the game is meant to be played in chunks, it has Alan Wake style “Previously on Resident Evil…” segments re-capping the plot at the start of chapters and the multiplayer is suitably split up aswell.

Its still a great game and one of the strongest RE titles in years.

Those underwater jumping things can fuck right off though.

Just go back to the roots and give us a redone version of RE2. Leave the gameplay as it was and use 1080p Blu-Ray pre-rendered video backgrounds and save the graphics power to create photo-realistic creatures and characters.

@mistermogul I am absolutely with you on this one. Best Resi since 4. And an amazing 3D effect on the XL.

Finally, a decent RE game for consoles. This is what RE6 should have focused on, not the overwhelming mess of cover based shooting, melee combat and random RE trivia.

@32: I’d love to play that, as long as it has a walk-shoot option.
