Steam Community Market now in beta

Valve has announced the Steam Community Market has gone into beta with Team Fortress 2. The Community Market was designed to “expand the Steam Economy beyond trading.” Players can now buy and sell in-game items with other players with team Wallet funds. The market will be made available to other titles on Steam in the New Year. Items purchased are subject to transaction fees.

I think that’s a lousy way to deal with real money trading.

You may be fighting a losing battle by standing up for the honest and free trade, but I think it’s better than giving up on that idea and making a few bucks on it.

It won’t be too bad when they add the feature to sell games you own, but currently it’s beta’d with tf2.
