I hope Dark Souls is becoming best RPG this time. It needs to get an award as best RPG for gods sake.

    EDIT: NO! Skyrim again?

    People.

  2. ManuOtaku

Like i said in a previous related thread, the RPG award it will be the most difficult one to make a call, all great games all around, having played all the consoles games, except diablo 3, i can say it is really fustrating to pick one, i myself cannot do it, if i have to pick it will be a tie between xenoblade and the witcher 2, therefore i dont want to be un the judges position right there, just for that award alone.

Edit: for me skyrim, while a good game on itself, shouldnt be awarded in this category, i even consider dragon dogma and Amalaur better games IMHO, but what did happened with the ps3 version should not be forgotten, and should be taken into consideration for giving awards, an awarded game should be competent in all is iterations, and this was not the case with Skyrim, while the other games were at least playable in all their iterations

    #2 3 years ago
  3. DrDamn

Skyrim has some great features, but lacks critical elements to be a more complete package for me. Don’t think it deserved any of those awards.

    #3 3 years ago
  4. DSB

    Bullshit categories, bullshit awards.

“One to watch”. Yeah, thats not in there just to shamelessly plug upcoming games.

    #4 3 years ago
  5. Deacon

    @Manu

Agree with you there on Skyrim. I was just saying to my bro that it shouldn’t even be eligible considering the clusterfuck of issues and ongoing non-support for PS3. Ultimate Game Award? Pah!.. no fucking way.

    #5 3 years ago
  6. ManuOtaku

#5 i agreeDeacon, if they just nominated an specific iteration for the awards, for instance like Skyrim PC or 360, well in that case i wouldnt had so much qualms about it, but they clearly put skyrim, which means in all its iterations including PS3, therefore i dont go so far to say it shouldnt be consider at all to the award,i think it should be included nontheless, but it clearly shouldnt had won it, for the above mentioned things/issues.

    #6 3 years ago
  7. ManuOtaku

#4 dont complain too much DSB, they might hear you and proceed to include next year the “One not to watch for” award, remember it can be always worse…way worse… ;)

    #7 3 years ago
  8. Dragon246

Really, no matter how good a game is, if half of the people cant play it properly, then it just cant be a ultimate game, most awards go to the most hyped game of the year.

    #8 3 years ago
  9. silkvg247

Skyrim was the buggiest, clunkiest thing I played on the PC for a long time. Enjoyed it once I found mods to eliminate some of the fundamental flaws, but “Ultimate game of the year” couldn’t be further from the truth. Surely money has changed hands here.

  10. Da Man

Outrageous. There’re not enough Sony winners. Disagree that Sony games are good? You can’t play them properly.

Best gaming moment was climbing up a big fucking hill!!? Let me guess… Cuz of the view right… Of more big fucking hills :-/

    #11 3 years ago
  12. ManuOtaku

#10 well Da Man they won more than Nintendo and Microsoft, at least they had it on the handheld award for what that is worth for, therefore i think they did better than the competition, and for what is worth i will be playing the weekend on my recently bought vita this game (uncharted), with escape plan and dokuro as well, i hope the PSN gives me back 20$ part of the promotion of this month, i did spend more than 100$ this moth, with the siren collection, machinarium, joe danger the movie, and the above mentioned games, so i can buy sound shapes or deathspank, i have not decide it yet.

#11 Orbit dont forget one more dragon, and its not you fellow commenter ;).

    #12 3 years ago
  13. roadkill

Hmm, I also agree with Manu and Deacon. Skyrim might be good but it’s not that good.

  14. Da Man

ManuO – What are you talking about? They didn’t win anything aside from the overhyped shitty Uncharted.

    #14 3 years ago
  15. ManuOtaku

#14 yep that one, i didnt see nintendo winning or microsoft… wait well microsoft too counting minecraft, sorry i didnt count it for microsoft´s side that game, therefore the only one without any awards was ninty ..sniff.. ;_; ..sniff…, sony and microsoft are in a tie.

  20. Dragon246

  21. Da Man

How on earth something as insipid as Asura’s Wraith even got there.

You better add more smileyes to that post, grunt246. I eagerly await yet another passionate wall of ignorant bs such as PSX being the first console feat 3d graphics or thoughts on teh mighty cell.

    #21 3 years ago
  22. ManuOtaku

next year due skyrim influence, they will bebute a new category the “broken game of the year” :)

#20 ok dragon will do, i dont post on weekends, basecally i spend my free time playing games on weekends, therefore i will post, probably on monday God Willing.

#21 Da Man, how dare you say Asuras was insipid?, it did had more traditional gameplay than Heavy rain and a story to boot IMHO, and nobody has say this thing about heavy rain, man i will never forgave you ;), but maybe iam biased here it was a sort of anime, therefore chances are i will love it not matter what, therefore no biggy man :)

  23. silkvg247

On the ultimate nominee list I see games that raise a huge question mark being there in the first place, like Kid Icarus, Fifa 2012.

We’ve had *much better* games out this year which downright poop on most of those short listed. e.g. Sleeping Dogs. Saints Row 3.

    #23 3 years ago
  24. Nuggetface

Best RPG?! For real? It is a good game, but not a fucking good RPG. And how the hell did it beat The Witcher 2, KOA:R and Dragon’s Dogma?
