Wii U production not impacted by factory fire at unnamed assembly plant in Japan, says Nintendo

Wii U production will not be impacted by a recent factory fire at an unnamed Wii U system assembly plant in Japan, Nintendo has said.

Earlier today, David Gibson, an analyst for the Australian bank Macquarie in Tokyo, downgraded Wii U's shipping forecast by one million units and told his Twitter followers he expected Nintendo to revise its revenue forecast on October 24.

Nintendo told CVG it won't downwardly revise its global Wii U shipping forecast, stating: "As of now, we see no impacts on our Wii U console production scheme".

Wii U releases on November 18 in the US and November 30 in Europe.
