Painkiller: Hell & Damnation platforms, release date and pricing to be announced in September
Painkiller Hell & Damnation has a teaser trailer, released by Nordic Games and The Farm 51. The “top-to-bottom remake” of the first Painkiller title is currently gearing up for a closed beta phase on PC. Updates on platforms, release dates and pricing will be announced in September.

The thing about this game – I’ve played this closed beta a lot – it’s same bloody game. Just a tad worse, slightly worse physics. I’d say it’s reasonable to buy it where no PK is available – PS3, Wii U, Vita. But on PC you should just stick with original and on 360 get Hell Wars (original with addon included).

I’ve added a batch of screenshots and artwork in there.

“Updates on platforms, release dates and pricing will be announced in September.” Well, Steam already has a steamplay badge on it for Windows\Mac so it seems it’s already known that it’ll be on those platforms at least.

I don’t know, Hell Wars was kinda bad too. I mean, how can they do this? Original Painkiller is still among my all time fave FPS games (Up there with Doom 1-2, Blood, DN3D and Serious Sam 1) while every subsequent release has been at least 10 times worse.
Even with Farm 51 behind this one, I’m still unsure. Sure, some of original devs are there but many others are scattered around. Actually, the ones remaining with People Can Fly seem to be doing the best work if BulletStorm is any indication.
