Monster Hunter news for the west still to be announced this year

Thursday, 16th August 2012 21:33 GMT By Stephany Nunneley

Monster Hunter fans were a bit disappointed Capcom didn’t announced anything regarding the franchise at gamescom this year, but US SVP Christian Svensson assured fans, once again, news for the western portion of the world will be announced before the end of the year.

Speaking on the Capcom forums, Svensson said: ” A few weeks ago, I told Monster Hunter fans on this forum that you’d hear something before the end of the year. Nothing has changed on that front,” he said.

“You’re also assuming that when it comes, it’ll be at some event you can see coming from a mile away. That’s not necessarily a correct assumption.

“While I appreciate the passion, I can’t help you if every possible industry event leads to build up and crashes in anticipation. If we somehow get to Dec 31 and you do not have more visibility, then please be mad at me. Until then, I’d request the benefit of the doubt and your continued patience.

“Thanks for being such great fans.”

So by the end of the year, fans can look forward to hearing about localization plans for a Monster Hunter game, whether it be Monster Hunter Tri G or Monster Hunter 4.

Thanks, Siliconera.

The PSP-> PS3 HD version has been out in Japan for a while now hasn’t it? I’m guessing a Vita announcement should be forth coming as Sony have hinted quite heavily at that in the past. It really should have had a MH title this year in Japan at least.
