Europa Universalis IV bringing grand strategy back in 2013

Paradox Interactive has announced that Europa Universalis IV, the first entry in the long-running grand strategy game franchise since 2007, will be coming late next year.

Announced via a Twitch.tv interview, Europa Universalis IV previously went by the codename “Project Truman,” and is based on Paradox’s internal engine.

Known features include an upgraded 3D map; an improved trade system; empire building; a more streamlined interface; and “more historic lands” than any other title in the series.

Despite not launching until 2013, Paradox says that Europa Universalis IV will be showcased at Gamescom next week.
