Ahead of an upcoming PSP release, Final Fantasy III has made its way on to the Android platform.

Final Fantasy III is available to purchase now on Google Play for $15.99. It weighs in at 172MB and runs on Android 2.2 and up.

Final Fantasy III is also available for Nintendo DS and iOS. A PSP port is due to arrive in September.

Thanks, Siliconera.

Sixteen dollars? That’s ridiculous, I’d never pay that much for a game on my phone. I understand the whole nostalgia thing, but c’mon Square, you’re killing yourself, I could fire up SuperGNES for 4 bucks and play half your back catalog >.> I think it’s time to come down off that high horse.

It’s the remake released on NDS a few years ago, not the NES original.

Even so. Still a bit steep that price.
