Too many 3DS models would “perplex” users: Iwata
Hot on the heels of the 3DS XL and 3DS XL Circle Pad Pro announcements, Nintendo boss Satoru Iwata has said more models may confuse people. Translated: this is it for a while.

As reported by Kotaku, Iwata said in an investor meeting today that more models could “perplex” buyers, adding that the 3DS XL was created to fulfill “the need” for a larger screen.
There are no plans for more versions “in the near future,” he said.
“The need” for an extra stick will be handled by the new Circle Pad Pro for the XL.
The larger Circle Pad Pro will release later this year in Japan. 3DS XL itself will release in Europe and Japan on July 28.

Not having the extra stick built into the XL is retarded beyond words.

“Translated: this is it for a while.”
I hope that’s true but knowing Nintendo, they’ll find some kind of excuse to release more and more models. As long as Japanese and many other people keep buying every single new model even while having 2-3 models already, Nintendo and others will keep their current strategy of releasing many models.

More colours, for sure. I still can’t quite believe how much a new colour boosts sales.

I hope they release a new colour, the type that changes with the light and that it shows all the colours, i dont know the name of that type of paint, but it will be neat on a handheld or a console, i only saw this type of paint on cars, though.

I heard the 3DS XL will not include a AC adapter. Baffling!

That’s funny, because they said that the base 3ds was it a week before they announced the 3ds XL. This can’t be trusted at all.

red and black just like the 3ds logo for me, day one!
system doesn´t need a second cp.
no ac adapter is nothing to make such a fuss about. i for one already have two. many many ohters already got one as well. i actually think it was a good idea not to include the ac adapter, sersiously. it will make the 3ds xl a bit cheaper and if you really do not own one already you can get a third party adapter from amazon for 5 euro. many retailers like gamestop (at least in germany), offer the 3dsxl for the regular price including an adapter…not a big deal.
