CD Projekt hiring for new IP and “dark fantasy” RPG ” known around the world”

CD Projekt Red’s confirmed in new job listings it’s hiring for a brand new IP, indicated to be a shooter RPG, and for a “dark fantasy” RPG that is “known around the world” that obviously isn’t The Witcher III.

“In order to continue in this spirit our journey within the constantly booming game industry, CD Projekt RED wants to reinforce its existing team with some highly talented and passionate people, who will help us in crafting new amazing projects,” it said on its site.

“Our mature dark-fantasy world is well known around the world, though if you can’t stomach dwarves, elves or sorceresses who put their ample charms on display in Playboy magazine, we’ve got also something special that might be right up your alley!

“We’re looking for people who would rather work on an entirely new and different IP – a vast RPG for which we want to assemble the best possible staff. It represents an opportunity for you to create a grand new project from the ground up!”

Alongside the job listings for the new IP is an image of a gun. The second list of job postings shows a sword. So new IP features guns, while the second game clearly isn’t a sequel certain RPG that released on PC last year and Xbox 360 just last month.

Thanks, Gamerzines.

I don’t understand the wording of this at all. It’s a new IP right? So how can it be known around the world? Is it a new gaming IP based on a fairy tale or famous movie or somethin’?

@1, new iP and Dark Fantasy by something means by book, movie, etc or Witcher III.

@1, the story refers to 2 new games as I read it, a new IP that is an RPG shooter and a separate dark fantasy RPG that it would seem is based on an existing IP.

I reckon after The Witcher 2 CDPR can probably get whatever IP they want to build an RPG off.

RPS from the best PC publisher? Sounds like a must-buy, at least for me. Too bad it’s only going to be out when it’s ready, which well may be 2014 and beyond…

Yes, freedoms, there are 2 games being mentioned here. One of them (the Dark Fantasy known around the world, with associated ladies circulating via playboy)..That’s all The Witcher IP. They’re just bigging themselves up and flexing in that bit. They’re not recruiting for a dark fantasy…but:

“we’ve got also something special that might be right up your alley!

“We’re looking for people who would rather work on an entirely new and different IP – a vast RPG for which we want to assemble the best possible staff.”
THAT’s what they’re recruiting for. ;) whatever game that is alluding to.

Could it be Beowulf or lord of the rings, or something nordic?

How illiterate one needs to be to not understand this sentence? Sapkowski’s books and the world described in them are well-known around the world and the Witcher stories are full of dwarves, elves and sorceresses. Moreover, the main female character of The Witcher II (sorceress Triss Merigold) appeared last year in the Polish edition of Playboy. As vague as this is, I’m excited for whatever it is.

I’m pretty sure Lord of the Rings didn’t have any guns in it. If it did, the movies probably would’ve been better.

Like freedoms_stain says, they’re referring to two different projects. The Witcher III and unknown game with guns.

#12 “they need to support PS3 to be good developers”
Supporting the PS3 doenst make them good developers, instead that makes them witchers, because they need wizardy for that 8D.

@12: If they are overrated then why do you want their games on your PS3 in the first place? o.O

Their platform of choice is the Windows PC. They don’t mess up their ports on other platforms, which is a common mistake of just about any other developer, who just want to grab as much money as possible before people realize that each and every platform has unique flaws. CD Project’s games always include premium add-ons for the regular price and their release DLCs are just time-base exclusives averyone gets for free after a time.
