Spark Unlimited hiring for “bold new take” on “established” console series

Just a week after it announced its latest project as Lost Planet 3 from Capcom, Spark Unlimited has posted job listings for a “bold new take” on a “established” third-person console franchise.

One listing on Gama for its lead combat designer said the game would be a a third-person action slasher with horror elements.

The listing asks for an “understanding in sword fighting combat tactics, martial arts and weapons,” adding that experience in Unreal 3 with at least one shipped game is a preferance, suggesting UE3 could be used for the title.

A second listing suggests multiplayer or co-op for the game.

Other listings include for lead designer, senior designer and character animator.

Spark confirmed last week it was working on Lost Planet 3 for an early 2013 release on PS3, 360 and PC.

Thanks, GAF.

BREAKING NEWS:
Onimusha franchise has been ruined.

Seriously, I know we should give everyone a chance but after to tragedies known as Legendary the Box and Fall of Liberty, I find it hard to believe any “established” console series will be safe in Spark’s hands.

Agreed.

They’re like the Uwe Boll of the games industry in that they get all these decent IP’s to work on but have that fabled Reverse-Midas Touch; everything they touch turns to shit.
