Star Trek Online relaunched for French and German speakers, double XP bonus weekend

Cryptic has announced the relaunch of Star Trek Online in Europe to support its French and German languages, along with a vow to include more event timeslots in Europe. To celebrate the addition of Deutsch and Français, a double-XP bonus weekend begins this weekend starting April 2 for all players in all regions. Players will also receive a skill point and bridge officer point boost, and a free IDIC Tribble which provides a buff to your character based its class. Get all three three buffs at once, players will receive and additional boost to damage, health regeneration and resistance. Get more information via the official website.

    @1, The space/ship battles aren’t too bad but the on-foot stuff was pretty terrible. That’s based on playing it some time ago though, it might have changed and I haven’t tried it since it went F2P.

    I would say it’s probably worth a go if you’re a trek fan or just like the look of the ships and want to see them battle it out. I would also recommend trying to find a copy of Star Trek: Legacy, from what I remember I really enjoyed that and the battles are a somewhat similar.

    The plot lines are also weak and why you’re doing a quest totally forgettable. Also pretty much every quest plays out the same: Go somewhere, scan something, ship battle, foot battle, ship battle. In short, the game is pretty boring which is a shame because the actual ship battle mechanics are solid, its just everything else thats weak.
