Mass Effect 3 sells nearly 900k in first 24 hours

Mass Effect 3 sold nearly 900,000 copies in its first 24 hours on sale in the US, EA CEO John Riccitiello has said at the Wedbush Technology, Media and Telecommunications Conference, quoted by Venturebeat.

Riccitiello was quoted as saying that 890,000 units were sold in the first day the BioWare RPG was sold.

You can most likely assume it's hit 1 million by now following today's UK, European and Australian release.

"We anticipated it doing well, so we’re happy," he said.

The game's N7 Collector's Edition has been selling out in most UK retailers since EA opened it up to be sold by other outlets following news GAME wasn't to stock the game last week.

ME3's out today on PS3, 360 and PC.
