Fable Heroes turns up on Xbox Live Marketplace

Microsoft has accidentally outed Fable Heroes, a new direction for Lionhead's fantasy universe, confirming weekend rumours.

A listing on the Xbox Live Marketplace shows a cartoony brawler.

A minecart ride mini-game is shown, along with a board game set up of some kind. Several Fable series hallmarks are also visible - some familiar Fable II faces, Fable III's power-up chests, and even what may well be handholding.

Lionhead is listed as the developer, and the game features up to four player co-operative multiplayer both online and offline. We've grabbed the screens directly from the listing, and the official blurb is below:

"Fable Heroes is a fresh spin on the beloved Fable franchise in which up to 4 players play both cooperatively and competitively in this hack-and-slash adventure. Work together as heroes of Albion to defeat familiar foes and new enemies while collecting as many gold coins as possible to unlock upgrades, characters, and items in both this game and Fable: The Journey for Kinect for Xbox 360."

Microsoft held a GDC event over the weekend, and more details are expected once a press embargo lifts.
