Nightmare Busters announced as first SNES game in over ten years

Independent developer and publisher Super Fighter Team is set to release what it claims is the first SNES game to be launched in the US since 1998.

Nightmare Busters is a run and gun game which is now available for pre-order, although it's not expected to release until 2013.

The game's website reveals this is the SNES release from the company, which has produced Mega Drive and Lynx games in the past. Super Fighter Team produces limited runs of these unique titles at its own manufacturing facilities.

"The product will be manufactured from completely new materials. This means no existing game boards, cartridge shells or boxes will be 'recycled' from other products. Rather, everything will be produced by our factory," the publisher explained.

Only 600 copies are planned so far, priced at $60 plus shipping.
