BAFTA 2012: Arkham City, LA Noire, UC3 lead nominations
Batman: Arkham City and LA Noire lead the way for the 2012 BAFTA Game Awards with eight nominations each.

The Rocksteady and Team Bondi epics go up against one another for the Best Game award alongside, FIFA 12, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Portal 2 and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.
Also up for nods are Uncharted 3 and LittleBigPlanet 2 with six nods, while Portal 2 and Skyrim gain five nominations. Deus Ex: Human Revolution is up for four awards, with Dark Souls gaining two nods.
In the Performer Award, it’ll be the well-known faces of Stephen Fry (LBP2′s narrator) and Stephen Merchant (Portal 2′s Wheatley) going up against the likes of Nolan North (Uncharted 3′s Drake), Aaron Stanton (LA Noire’s Cole Phelps) and Mark Hamil (Arkham City’s Joker), with Togo Igawa (Shogun 2′s Dipolomat, Advisor and Military General) rounding off the list.

Yeah…STRATEGY category makes no sense(apart from Shogun).

@1 Exactly. They could have easily added a RPG cat or something. Heck, they’ve nominated Deus Ex in Action cat too so, why the hell a FPS/RPG hybrid in strategy section is beyond me.

I always remembered bafta as a credible awards show, then i saw Fifa 2012 in the best game category. Most of the nominations are sane but that… it just invalidates everything they do.

I don’t understand why LA Noire has received so much love, it was meh to me, and I got bored quickly.

It’s pretty sad that the innovation category has pretty much no innovations.
That says a lot about how the money is being spent at the moment.
There’s a lot on those lists that don’t make sense.
