Skyrim 33% off on Steam, Creation Kit, Hi-Res pack out
Katie bar the door: as promised, the Skyrim Creation Kit is out along with the rumored, free High-Resolution Texture Pack. Nice surprise isn’t it? To celebrate, Bethesda also has the game for 33% off on Steam. Go download it all now and make some awesome mods. If you are not into such matters, and already own Skyrim, Game of the Year Editions for Morrwind and Oblivion are also $9.99 on the store, which is $10.00 off the normal price. Check out a video for the Creation Kit below.

This is how to support a game. Love it, and I also love the fact that skyrim sales will be turning other publishers heads. More like this please, money-people.

@ Pheonix
It’s up, it’s in the ‘tools’ page and is just called ‘Creation Kit’, no mention of Skyrim or TES in it’s name.

Yeah after posting that message I went to the tools page and there it was. I have been checking it since the announcement. I guess I just needed to make a post

FFFFFFFFF. Download FASTER. Now I can fix werewolves, damn you all for downloading this at the same time as me! FASTER!
Yes. That was entirely facetious. I say a lot of facetious things which are sadly not taken as such.

Oi! For those having trouble finding the Creation Kit – a cache issue can occur that results in even ‘Creation Kit’ not showing up. Restarting the Steam client should fix this.
In rare cases you MAY have to delete the clientregistry.blob file (in the Steam folder) to get it to show up. So if you’re still having no luck even after restarting Steam, then try that.

cant tell the difference, if you have player HD texture mods up don’t bother with this.

@11
There is a difference. The modding community just used sharpening filter on the textures with a photo editing software like Photoshop where Bathesda gave out the ones they have and are also optomized to work with the system instead of causing havoc with your GPU.

@11 One easy to miss reason why you might not be seeing the difference: Once you’ve installed the textures from steam, they don’t just automatically show up in Skyrim. You need to activate them from the launcher’s mod options before you fire up the game. Several people I know weren’t aware of this and thought just installing it in Steam was enough, and to be fair, this wasn’t very clearly announced by Bethesda… the only mention I’ve seen of it was a random twitter post: https://twitter.com/#!/BGS_Devs/status/167006732269273088
